These popular exercise classes underpin all that physiotherapy entails. They provide the blue print for the body, which is often lost through injury, poor posture or years of bad habits. The classes build from a solid foundation of neutral spine, core muscles and breath control, to very advanced exercises that build strength and stability. The classes safely progress and challenge you to develop a balanced, fit, strong and injury resistant body.

Pregnancy Pilates
AJP Pregnancy & Pilates classes are specifically designed to meet the demands and needs of pregnancy. The classes focus on the key muscles that support and stabilise the pregnant body, including the pelvic floor. To ensure quality, our classes are small in numbers and are taught by physiotherapists with expertise in Women’s Health. They will also keep you up to date on how to look after your overall health and well-being during this special time. A fabulous way to ensure a strong, fit and healthy pregnancy!

Power Yoga
Power Yoga is an athletic form of Yoga that has taken its roots from traditional lineage, and adapted it to suit western minds and bodies. Power Yoga is a dynamic practice that will improve your flexibility, strength, core stability and of course, instill a sense of calm. AJP instructors use their knowledge of body mechanics to maintain a safe and meditative, yet powerful and challenging sequence that will drive dramatic improvements in your body. We run small classes to ensure a safe and individualised approach. The classes can be modified to accommodate most injuries (physiotherapy assessment highly recommended for people with injuries).

Clinical Pilates (CP)
Clinical Pilates (CP) is a form of exercise that blends the recent research on spinal stability with the traditional Pilates Method. CP sessions are individually designed, to optimally manage and recover from a specific injury/dysfunction, or simply to optimise your body’s performance. CP will improve low back (‘’core’’) stability, upper body posture, balance, strength and flexibility. CP is also a very good choice for the pre and post natal period.

The sessions are run by AJP physiotherapists who have specific Clinical Pilates training. CP sessions build from a solid foundation of neutral spine, core muscles and breath control, to advanced exercises that build strength and stability. Classes - Term 2 (2013)
Classes are run in 10 week blocks, with 1-2 weeks' break between.
